ForwardGro Receives 2017 ABC Merit Award

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Baltimore Metro Chapter announced that Grounded Electrical Construction’s work on the ForwardGro Grow Facility project, has earned the company a Merit Award in the Electrical Construction Over $1 Million category. Grounded Electrical Construction’s representatives will receive the award during the annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration at Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore. The awards program recognizes outstanding projects throughout the Baltimore metro area built by ABC contractors.

“I’m extremely proud of our team for successfully completing this unique and complex project within a very tight deadline. I’d like to thank ABC Baltimore, the judges and its committee for recognizing our hard work on this project.” said Grounded Electrical Construction Vice President of Estimating Zach Rothfus.

Located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, this project consisted of renovating an existing 62,000 square foot greenhouse. This state of the art greenhouse is designed specifically to grow medicinal marijuana. There are 1,080 1KW HPS grow lights to support plant life, in addition to horizontal air flow fans, down draft fans, two stage curtain systems, radiant floor heat, overhead radiant heat, odor mitigation and irrigation. Electrical systems critical to plant life are backed up by a 400KW diesel generator. The head house portion includes offices, bathrooms, cloning rooms, drying rooms, storage, packaging and a vault.
